Ok, I think my first pass on reworking the information in the Model Info Pages is done. I haven't gone through an rechecked all the specifics (weight, price, etc) for each model, as I was really concentrating on making sure models that were missing were added and Models that had incorrect body numbers were fixed.

Much of this is born out of faulty reference material that has been republished in different Packard books over the years. With the biggest issues are with the overlapping models in the 1st through 5th series. Especially the Six models.

Many of the published body type numbers were incorrect or shifted by a series. I still have one or two that need further investigation. But nearly all of the one that have been fixed have been confirmed with l against cars with verifiable "floor tags". These are the little brass tags screwed to the floor or inner firewall on the earlier models that contains the body style number, and body serial. This information was later moved to the Patent Plate.

Anyway, take a look through and let me know if you see any errors.

Also, as part of this, I went back through the registry any corrected entries there as well to align them.

Thanks to Leyton Chan (Chairman, Packards of New Zealand) who helped me to identify, correct and verify those early models.

An example of a correction was actually one of Peter Toets cars. It was in the registry as a 4th Series car, as it's body style number was listed under the 4th series. But it is actually a 5th series car as is the body style number. So this was corrected. Leyton called Peter to verify the floor tag.

The 1st through 5th series is still a bit ambiguous as far as which year's a car may have been titled to. It didn't follow the model year schema that used from the 6th series on. So a car introduced in Aug 1925 and sold in 1925, would have been titled as a 1925. If it was sold in 1926, then it was a 1926. Same model, no difference.

Thanks so much for all your hard work and dedication to this website Kev!
FYI: On the data sheet for my car, 1099-3085, you have inserted the colour and motor numbers for my actual car from my vehicle registry. The car when built was black, (with black interior and top), instead of todays cream (with red interior and tan top). Also the motor number is what is currently in my car, but it is out of a 1953 Patrician displacing 327 C.I., so either the motor number is left at unknown, in the X100001 range, or you change the 282 that was correct for the year, to the incorrect 327 in my car. Your call.

Yes, if you use the Decoder, it will pull the information from Registry if that Vehicle Number matches a specific car in the Registry. Otherwise it uses the general information for that model.

The actual Model Info Pages always use general information (non-vehicle number specific).

So how you have it right now is fine as that reflects the cars current status.

Okay Kev, that is good, I did not want to mis-lead anyone about the cars data.
