There has been a lot of progress on my car this week. The bottoms of the front doors were rusted out, but hat has now been repaired and primed. The doors are looking great. They also started on the floor pan. One small area has been cut out and replaced. The larger area that was totally rusted out has been removed and a new piece is being fabricated.

The front clip has now been primed and everything fitted to the car. It's really looking good.

They also started tearing down the center divider so it can be reupholstered. When they did, they found a couple of surprises. One was a stack of 15 old playing cards that I've been able to date to the 1940s. The other is a Kansas City City Hall coin/token. I'm not having a lot of luck finding out the history of the coin, but construction of the city hall building was completed in 1937. It is just one more piece of the puzzle about the history of my car and whether or not it did belong to Bryce B Smith who was mayor of Kansas City from 1930 to 1939....all during the height of the Pendergast Machine era.
