Delco Shock Differences Between Models

Looking at picking up a pair of Delco lever shocks for my 2302. I sort of assumed these would all be about the same for 22nd and 23rd series cars. A quick glance at the Parts book shows a vast range of part numbers assigned to the various 22nd and 23rd series cars. For example, the 2302 is the only 23rd series car with its specific part numbers for the left and right shock.

So the question is - what are the differences between these shocks? Is there any interchangaeability between them, or is it imperative that I use what came on the car?

Externally they are the same and are interchangeable. Internally the valving is different which bound/rebound action. Which is usually based on the vehicle weight.

So a light base business coupe would have completely different valving specs then a heavy loaded custom sedan would.

Like I said they will all bolt up and if that's the only option you had, wrong valving is better that a dead shock.
