Been trying to identify what is the correct carb for my 1941 110 Deluxe..when I got it many years ago it had an wa-1 ..carb that was ion rough shape..it currently has another wa-1 from a 1942 model for a 120 I believe…my research shows my carb should be a stromberg bxov-26….I have a stromberg bxov-26 and want to use it but it does not have an vacuum import for my vacuum line coming from my distributor…I have electric wipers and the only vacuum I see is from the vacuum advance to the base of my wa-1 carter….do they make the stromberg with the vacuum port? Or is maybe the wa-1 carter correct? Lots of conflicting information in my research so I’m back here trying to get some help..thanks…

I don’t know about 1941 for sure but my 1940 had a purely-mechanical non-vacuum advance on the distributor so maybe check that yours is the proper one. That said, I have one or two BXOV-26 carburetors at my shop and could check when next there but I’m afraid that will be a while as I only just returned. In the meantime, check if there is a fitting on the intake manifold itself.

The copper line supplies heat to the automatic choke. The male fitting on the vacuum advance unit is incorrect. It may not seal correctly. Even a small leak in the vacuum line can affect the advance unit's operation. I'm pretty sure that the vacuum advance unit should connect to a port located on the carburetor near the throttle plate. The vacuum wiper motor should connect to a threaded port on the intake manifold, or to the vacuum booster port on the fuel pump. All 120s had an 8 cylinder engine with a 2-barrel carburetor.

This is a 110 and I agree that it should be connected at the base of the carburetor so odd there is no fitting there for it. My 1940 110 had the Autolite distributor (which I still have) that had no vacuum advance at all so I never paid attention to a fitting on the carburetor. Other/later distributors will fit which is why I asked if it was the proper one which you can tell by the number on its tag.

Yes so the vacuum does run to base of carb it is the green metal line in third pic.. I believe it’s just a brake line used as a vacuum.. what is the correct male fitting for vacuum at advance? And yes ..problem is the stromberg carb I have that is correct for my 41 does not have a vacuum port at base like the carter that is on now? This is my issue..and confusion..tks and the stromberg I have is also from a 1940 … so maybe there is a difference in the two years of carbs even though they have same model number? Maybe there is one with a port..but I can’t seem to locate one
