On the 1940 "Limo" - my other favorite line is "No title, but easily obtained." Who in their right mind would spend 40k on a not rare care with no title??? Best of luck to the seller.

Yeah, I always find this so silly... If the title is easy why aren't you getting one and doubling-up the price?

“It’s so easy that I couldn’t be asked to do it.” 🤡

Regarding the paint… first of all, not even the wheels on that car are original so that automatically casts doubt on any claim of authenticity. Second, I can see a seam where the passenger front fender meets the hood and also the heater core is painted body color and that doesn’t just happen by accident.

Yeah, I was also looking at that front fender close-up picture. The orange peel is very prominent... I was trying to convince myself it was dust or a visual effect... Also, the air filter is painted the body color, so there was definitely some artistry going on, at some point.
The seller is either clueless, or full of it. Looking at those "flat tire outlines", the car was in storage. The mileage could also be on a "second wind"

The air cleaner you can just yank off so I don't pay much attention to that, but no one removes the heater core unless doing some serious work in that area and/or if it is leaking. Getting the hoses off is a pain.

On the 1940 "limo", Craigslist posting is deleted, so not sure if he sold it, or silently reads here and pulled it from the market. No data...

New postings on FB today:

1953 Patrician. Appears to be a very original car. Has apparently been in storage for years and is not running. Looks pretty solid. Posting because it has factory air and somebody might be looking for these components. But the car itself looks like it could be put back on the road without too much effort and might clean up nicely. Asking $4K. Virginia:

1953 Clipper Deluxe Sedan. Exceptionally well-preserved original car with 39K original miles. Ad states car has been garage kept since new. Body appears to be rust free. Only issue I see is a worn area on the driver's seat. Rest of the interior looks pretty amazing for an original car. You rarely find original cars this nice. Asking $18K. New York:

1941 110 Business Coupe. Solid unrestored, has been in indoor storage for many years. Ad states car has not run in about 35 years. Asking $8,500. Mississippi:

1952 200 Deluxe Sedan. Very nice older restoration. Estate sale. Ad states car was late grandfather's pride and joy for over 25 years. Car is currently not running and has not run in several years. Engine is free. Asking $15K. Tennessee: Link corrected.

1949 (23rd Series) Standard Eight Club Sedan, Model 2395. Looks like an older amateur restoration which could use some attention. Think this might be a Golden Anniversary car as it is painted gold. Not running, but ad states engine turns over. A friend of mine had one of these years ago and I'm wondering if this might be his old car. Asking $4,500. South Carolina:

Seems to be on the high side... The car basically needs everything and, according to the seller, "could be worth about 40,000 when fixed up". However, he politely omits the required expenses

Sorry about that. Here is the link. And it is a four-door sedan, not a club sedan:

It looks like a nice car, but it will be difficult to find someone to spend $15,000 on a fully restored 200 that does not run. I don’t expect it would need a whole lot of attention, but it’s also not perfect… you can see the chrome cracking at the center top of the rear bumper in one of the photos. It would be a very nice buy, but I would have to haggle the price.
