A very unusual color combination - quite attractive! I wonder what the data plate says on it?

Yes, I'd like to see the VN tag and cowl number as well. As to the two-tone, I'd guess that the paint variations for the 55 convertibles pretty well followed what we saw in 1956 on a % basis, which had 22 cars in two-tone, 31 cars in solid colors.

watch him going down the highway....the steering wheel is off or the wheel alignment is. I like how he makes it sound like he bought the only twin ultra left on the planet.....
i didn't realize the antennas came out that far....geesh you could phone home ET with those things..... i wonder if when he was turning that "tight corner"....did he have bias plys like factory or remake radials....hmmmmmmm man....made me want to go home and work on mine though....after all it is the Caribbean of the Clippers ;0)

I give a lot of credit to Jay. He knows a lot about each car in his collection. Most big time collectors aren't as hands on as Jay is. Is everything he said 100 percent accurate, no. But all in all he was pretty well right on for most of his comments. As far as the transmission is concerned, I am glad he put the car back to original. The trans is not rare but the shop that found one for him probably emphisized how hard they searched for one for him. Thanks Jay for for your heartfelt comments about Packard.

Thanks to Mr. Grimes and Carl Madsen for posting the website and allowing us to enjoy those videos. Although I doubt that Jay's Caribbean has twin underseat heaters, he is knowledgeable about the car. And it provides me with an opportunity to send the url for this site around to have all my car buddies see what this automobile is all about.

I noticed when he opened the hood, he had a hood rod he used to keep it open. Is this normal on caribbean's because of the weight of the snouts on the hood?
My 400 does not have that.

In the days before bondo, lead was used to blend the contours in the hoods of the Caribbeans for the hood scoops. Therefore the hood is very heavy and the prop rod is needed to keep the hood up...springs just woundn't do it. You'll note Jay's comment in the video about the weight of the hood.

Looks like my notes suggest that Leno's Caribbean was a solid "N", Agate? Is "Agate" is gray? Anyone actually seen his data plate?
