The picture labeled 110 small looks like it has Bob Berg's homemade Town & Country convertible in the background.

Of course the car labeled 41 180 and clearly a 1941 convertible with 180 script is NOT a 180 as no conventional-bodied 180 convertible was made, the only 180 convertible was the Darrin. That is why there were really two 1941 160 convertibles, the regular one and the DeLuxe version indicated by a DE in the vehicle number. It has real wood door sills and some other upgrade touches.

You are right about that 1941 "180" convertible. Interestingly, it was featured on the cover of Collectible Automobile magazine several years ago, with an article written by Richard Langworth. When I wrote them a letter and pointed out the same thing, identifying specific ways in which it was obviously a converted 120, I received a nasty comment from Langworth in return. I've always questioned why they used a 120 to build such a car. If they would have used a 160, it would have been a lot easier turning it into a 180... just trim and adding power windows. Nice looking car, though, if you can look beyond the obvious modifications to turn it into a 180.

Isn't the running board trim different between a 160 and 180? Both have the full length strips, but I think the 180 has 3 bumps instead of 2. Or is this a running change on both series? I ran across 2 versions while looking for parts.

Running board trim should be identical between 160-180, and should be the three ribbed version.
