Ok I give up, after 4 years I still cant find the lever or whatever it is that opens the cowl vent!

Hi there,
Thanks for the answer. It is indeed the upper cowl vent handle I am missing. Time to get the flashlight out and see what is left of it, if anything, under the dashboard. Pat.

There is an old saying that a flashlight (torch) is a metal cylinder for storing dead batteries.
