There is a neat little book titled "Vanderbilt Cup Races of Long Island". It is from the Images of Sports series and is by Howard Kroplick with foreword by Florence Ogg. It is published by Arcadia Publications (ISBN 978-0-7385-5751-9). In paperback, the book consists of 127 pages of period photos (1904 to 1910) with extensive captions. There are a few photos of the Packard Gray Wolf. Great images. Check it out.

Two more pictures I just came across that I hope you can enjoy. Randy Berger has commented to me how lucky we are here in Bergen County NJ to have so many Packards that are driven regularly, and whose owners all enjoy each other's company.
One picture is most of our regular group lined up at a friends house for coffee before heading off to a local show. Cars are: my 34 Eight, yellow 56 Executive 2 dr just visible thru my back window, 1950 Eight sedan, 1938 Eight sedan, 1956 Patrician, 1948 Custom 8 sedan, 1941 160DE convertible, and a 1947 2103 Super Clipper. Also present but not seen were 1954 Cavalier and 1941 180 with A/C. How that 41 Buick Super got in there I don't know. The second picture has a bit of a lesson in it. Owner of the 56 Executive, Ole Book (far right) heard an engine noise and solicited advice from Dan and Fred Kanter (left and center respectively). Apparently Ole had forgotten for a decade or so to oil his generator bearing and Fred/Dan instructed him on how to get a few drops of oil from the dipstick. A trick worth remembering.

At Macungie (PA), August 1. Somewhere on this website is a sharknose Graham fan - that picture if for you. The Nash is a 1930 series 90 twin ignition 8, a Full Classic and in great period colors. The Packard is an 840, and the 1930 Lincoln is by Derham. Hope you enjoy.

Again at Macungie PA, a long-running and terrific show in the Allentown area, huge flea market and perhaps 450 cars, maybe more. I'd guess the Studebaker ambulance was ordered by a town without the wherewithall to afford a Packard, Cadillac, Lincoln or other costly conversion. Just a plain Stude wagon, cozy and snug inside but just as welcome a sight when you were in need.
Now if you thought the radio antenna that Packard offered (seen on Gable's Darrin as I recall) built into the radiator cap was uncommon, how about this 1937-38 Chrysler Corp antenna on a Dodge? EDIT: Yes Eric, I did remember that you were the Graham fan, I was just having a little fun.

For V8 Caribbean fans, a couple of snaps from the Packards East region's picnic this summer. Two 56 Caribbean convertibles, both in paint code MES, and a 2392. Caribbeans belong to Ole Book in front, this writer's just astern. The second photo is my Caribbean alongside Dan Kanter's mostly original 1955.

What makes Dan Kanter's car "mostly original"?

Seating surfaces have been redone and of course tires and battery replaced but I believe most else is original including glass, paint, chrome, mechanicals, dash, and I believe the top and boot.
