The knob in the pic looks like 56 Jr knob. I'll have to look at mine to see if it is set screw or clip. 55 jr mite be the same too i can't remeber.

The knob in the picture accepts a 1/2 round shaft with a clip. The one I am looking for needs to accept a full-round shaft with a set screw.

53 senior knobs and 54 Clippers the same pattern-- 1/8 shaft with setscrew. Lights, antenna, speaker and possibly radio. 54 Seniors different pattern but still 1/8 shaft & screw.

55-6 Clippers same pattern as 53 Sr. & 54 Clipper (one you have) but 3/16 "D" shaft with clip.

Kev, If it comes to it, you can have this one but I sure hope somebody can come up with better. As all can see, this is pretty pathetic and not up to standards--might shine up a bit, but still rough. Anyway, this is what is needed.

Thanks Howard. That is exactly the knob I am looking for. I have a some emails and calls into the West Coast vendors. Sandy Chico thinks he may have one, but he has the check the warehouse in the morning. I also have an email in to David Moe as Seattle Packard. The East Coast vendors were already closed for the day before I stated to make my queries, so I will try them tomorrow if they are open. Worst case I will have to wait for the Swap Meet at the end of Jan. There are usually vendors there with knobs and switches.

By chance, is that a cigarette lighter knob with the set screw? Just curious.

Switch knob. Believe the lighter knobs screwed onto a stud and no setscrew. That one above just has a small piece of metal inserted to keep it in position for photo.

David Moe at Seattle Packard had the knob I was seeking and the price was more than fair. Actually the headlight swtich knob is exactly the same as stated by Howard. So I asked David if he had two of them as my headlight one is not in the best of shape.

I took the time this evening to drill out the larger antenna hole in the fender. I line the paper template up with the existing hole, and then cut the paper to the larger hole size. Then marked the metal to be removed with Sharpie.

Then I used a large step-drill bit to wide the hole in the middle to the correct diameter. Then I used a large rounded file to elongate it to the correct shape and size.

Lastly I checked the fit. Looks good so far. I send the order off to Jerry at Yesterdays Radio for the fender spacer. So once that arrives I will double check the fit.

Once I get it all dialed in then both fenders are off to the media blaster....finally.

Next I need to find the template for the mounting location of the antenna switch in the dash. This switch has the normal named bezel, and also an angled spacer plate.
