Single or multiple disc clutch? Sorry, I should know but it escapes me for the moment.

Should be single plate for 1928 Six model. No answer for Eugene.

G'day all, Replacing the clutch on your 526 should be as for my 533. The slight movement of the pressure plate fingers have no effect on the clutch installation as they are controlled by your throw out bearing and actuating fork. It's the same as any Packard. Just leave yourself about 2 inches or so free travel on the clutch pedal. ( check in the owners manual or i can post it when I look it up) on the clutch pedal using the adjuster rod on the pedal to actuating cross shaft. Best regards Peter Toet.

G'day all, especially Eugene, The 526/533 Owners Handbook pages 38 and 39 specifies that no adjustment is necessary save the Clutch pedal travel, which it recommends at five-eights of an inch. I still go for between 1 and 2 inches, but it's just my fear of clutch slippage. best regards Peter Toet
