Trying to think of something smart to say here about the torsion-level "ride"...
Nothing yet.

the '55-56 hood has no underside under structure in the middle of the hood. It flexes quite a bit. The only bracing is by the hood hinges and the front lip of the hood.

Don't do it.

Confucius say, if Packard hood is dented by woman bottom get thinner woman.

Quote:
And don;t forget, maybe a redhead or blond or blackhaired girl in Goth and one in Emo attire.

Not on my hood as the value of the picture would be less than the cost of the possible cost of hood repair. All the car manufactures came up with a part of the car to sit on called a seat most are softer than hoods, premium cars were noted for much better grade of seats. Your car do as you feel is correct

I'm more concerned about Eric's ability to quickly locate a picture of a "Gothopotamus"! Leash, be damned - I'd want a cage!

Jim, I had seen that before in a joke email someone sent me. So, it was a small matter of a Google search and there you have it, Keith's new woman.

Whyn't sit them on the bumper? That's not going to bend. Put up a little sign at the show: "Sit on my bumper and get a surprise." Nice way to meet adventerous types. Be sure the battery is up.

As for the hood, if you're serious about it, the further front you sit 'em the better. No leaning back luxuiously across the unsupported center of the hood (sorry Eric-there goes your Goth shot).

Thanks Guy, I didn't need that visualization!

BTW, My 240lb butt has sat on the hood of my '56 Patrician several times and no ill effects were noticed. Now, I didn't sit right in the middle of the thing but sat off to the side, towards the front and edge.

I have an idea if anyone wants to try, I still have my '56 Patrician parts car, if someone wants to supply the model I'll supply the car, but the model needs to be at least 5'3", under 130lbs, and preferably a redhead with no goth/emo connotations. Oh, and preferably naked, I don't want to scratch the rust.
