Mr. Valery Chkalov was the Soviet Charles Lindbergh. In Russia his fame is well preserved. Below a snapshot showing him and uncle Joe, sorry, uncle Joe and him.




The Packard of Mr. Chaklov in a museum, located in a Russian town, named after him: Chkalovsk.

To me it looks like a 1937 One Twenty Touring Sedan. The pilot received the car from Stalin himself according to this source (Russian).

A Dual Cowl on display in Moscow.

The label reads Super Eight 1104, built in 1934. It could be a 759 Coupe Roadster. The photograph was taken last year in Moscow, the car is registered in Russia.

Nice-looking car. It has a Twelve front bumper, but that's a very common "upgrade" done by today's owners and restorers and probably even done by dealer's in the day. Also a bit hard to see definitively but the wheels look like Eight & Super Eight wheels (no double-rolled rim).

Thanks for posting - any change of getting the numbers from it?
