I am thinking of driving the '29 Packard to the Packardinfo meet in November. I would like to avoid I-15 so that means I-10 east from Redlands and then pick up CA Rt 62 east of Cabazon and US-95. Any thoughts?

Looking at your option to stay off the interstate as much as possible, I think the route you have picked out is your only choice.

Perhaps we can see who else is coming from So Cal and organize a caravan of sorts. I would be interested as I may be driving the Clipper from Riverside.

Great idea Kev. I am thinking of leaving very early Thursday morning (just before sunrise) and just putt along at about 50 mph. Again, this is just early thoughts and I really wont know until late October is we are going. Are there other members here in the I.E.? I have to prep the car for such a trip, and I need to fix a small oil leak behind the engine (piston lubricator?) and change two exhaust studs that are broken and a freeze plug that is starting to show corrosion through the Bell green. I may be open to having guests ride with us who wish to attend but won't have a P-car to bring, however, it is an open touring car.

There are a couple So Cal guys here on the website, also I am hoping to round up some local PI chapter guys that may want to go. November should be a good time of year to make the trip, not to hot, and before the rainy season is moving in.

Good idea on beginning maintenance early. I am currently doing the same to our '40 to ensure we are ready in plenty of time. looks like a fun route take. I just received another registration today. Looks like the Fun Run is coming to life!
