Two weeks ago I visited an old friend, He bought the premises of a bankrupt company and uses the vehicle halls to store his "bad" cars. His limit is very clear: no more than 100 cars at the same time.

While delving in his crazy world I came accross a dirt track race car. Such kind of cars, made for rallycross races are different from cross country rallying, clearly recognizable at the chassis clearance.

What I found is a 4WD and four wheel steering (!) car, equipped with rev up Honda Prelude DOHC VTEC engine and sequential gear selection in a fibreglass body, a little beast without the faintest comfort, just a speed machine.

Gerd, I wonder if it started off as a Honda Prelude, as they did have 4-wheel steering for a couple of model years.

But probably not rear engined! Either way, a really cool car, and I suspect it would be a riot on any dirt road on any continent.

Kevin, I thought it is homemade but now, on second thought, I believe you are right.
The steering system was mechanical but covered by a double bottom, either underride guard or for aerodynamic reasons or both, however, not visible and therefore no pics.

Ken, the riot factor: bombastic! (no muffler ...) But cool? I believe it would more probably be a hot adventure to drive this hottie, back to back with the roaring engine.

Due to weight reasons the car doesn't have an own starter but starts by a so-called airclutch and fed compressed air. We did it and after a couple of revolutions it awoke with infernal sound.
And then we clapped spurs to our horses. I was equipped with a strong BMW V8 that delivers 215 hp but nevertheless without a chance because I don't have a racer heart. Well, I haven't been lapped 'cause I know how to broooaden up!
