Cormorant Interchangeability

I know the bases are different. But are the Cormorants (bird only) the same from '49 thru '51?

So, for example, can I bolt a 1950 bird directly onto my 1951 base?

I think BDeB recently indicated that the bird was interchangeable here. I tried to use the parts manual to get an answer but it left me even more confused than usual (I'm usually pretty good interpreting the parts manual but this left me flummoxed). I did notice that both "Pelican" and "Cormorant" are there in print. You might want to wait for confirmation from someone who really knows before you go out and get a 48-50 bird (mine are still Cormorants).

Yes you can.
1948 to 1951 Cormorants are all the same, just the base is different for 1951

Thanks guys. I always thought they looked interchangeable, but it's good to have confirmation. Next question: Does anyone have one they would want to trade for a '52 version?
