Puller,,,Best $60 dollars I ever spent. Hubs came right off with a little B/b blaster and puller. I see why you say leave the nut on the axle. Hit the puller a couple of time and BLAM she came off to the back of nut. The inside hubs look smooth and the shoes look like I could get another 30 thousand miles. Im rebuilding the wheel cylinders, flush the lines. The power brake doesn't look good , pulled the cap off found some power in there. No fluid anywhere. While you have those rear drums off, this is a good time to check the real seals and repack the axle bearings.

If you check my blog on my '54 there are pics of me going thru mine.

The power brake doesn't look good , pulled the cap off found some power in there. No fluid anywhere.
