Gerd, nice to hear from you. Your yellow arrow covers a round drain hole in the vertical plate next to the LH side of the pan. There are drain slots on each side of the rear horizontal plate. You can see one of them clearly in Don's first photo of the altered oil pan.

A small Austrian with characteristical moustache had been chauffeured in a supercar (threeaxletruck6x6militaryjeepluxurycartankconvertible - a kind of air force number one in low level flight), that was equipped with two multistage oil pumps to ensure steady oil supply even in extreme sloping positions.
