Hi Guys,

Fitted a new carb today, new plugs, etc, etc.

Started my Baby up and it seemed to run fine.

But.....while the motor is running smoothly, the body, steeing wheel etc, are vibrating significantly.

Further....the exhaust note resembles a 'hyper' VW twin, with a distinct 'put-put-put-put' tone to it.

It's not pulling great, feels rough.

Could it be crossed plug wires, bad plug? I feel it's unlikly to be the new carb as its not running lean or suffering from fuel starvation.

Could it be that you are running too rich (too much fuel)?

BTW, what carburetor did you get?

No, its not running rich, no smoke or smell, gut feeling is it's an electric problem.

Could you have a miss on one cylinders? Bad plug/wire?

Given the rather unique twin ignition system used in 33 and 34 combined with the fact that you changed plugs would lead to to think either two plug wires are crossed, or half the ignition system had dropped out. First thing I'd do is check the wires and numbers (they are numbered on the cap under the cover) and then check the two coil high tension leads. With the cap off, you might also give a check to both sets of points just to insure they are closing and opening.

Seems less likely that it's the carburetor, but what carburetor did you install? Any excessive soot or smoke at the tailpipe?
