"Carnation & Amythyst" on a 54 Pacific. If I remember correctly about 50 were done in this combination to measure public reaction to the colors, in any case the exact number so painted is known. Also IIRC the paint code on the VN plate was "R", a code which Packard used for several other trial paint schemes in 1954 and in other years.

Car is coming along nicely! I think you need a couple more bottle openers on the rear fenders though! Some think too many are excessive, but I like them.

Hey GearRat...Thanks. I hope you are not to offended by what some of those clowns had to say on the HAMB. There's people on there that their sole purpose in life is to bust chops on others. I knew what you were asking and figured the best place for an answer would be the HAMB. Trust me, been there, done that. The best thing you can do is ignore the the rude posts and acknowledge the positive and encouraging ones. You're welcome to hang out with me and my buddy that is coming along. He's built a few cars in his day and we've helped each other a time or two. Give me a shout when you get to the show.

The cars we kick ourselves over! I had a chance to buy a Carnation & amythyst hardtop 12 years ago............I wish I knew then what I know now!
