Again, I do not know theses cars, I noticed the top has one color on the outside, and a different color on the inside. Was that the way it came?

I knowthe 55-56 Caribbeans did the color difference, I did not know other Packards did it as well.

I am not complaining about this car, just trying to learn. This is a VERY nice car!

Out of complete ignorance, what is the second voltage regulator, or voltage regulator looking thing, for? (Yeah, ending a sentence with a preposition...).

Believe you are referring to the relay box for the R9 overdrive. It's the squarish black box just below the regulator and slightly toward center. Next to the accelerator bracket and Electro-clutch accelerator switch.

Without looking again at the picture I'm guessing it's the R-9 overdrive relay; 6 contacts, about the same size as a voltage regulator and properly mounted in close proximity to the generator control.
