Thanks for the pictures. The type font on the first two lines of your plate matches that on mine, though the lower two lines are different for the reason explained earlier. I wonder if Authur Slack was related to Lyman Slack who had earlier served on the Packard Board of Directors and was an occasional consultant to Nance in the final years?

Is the plaque from a 56 Caribbean numbered later than 1250? As the story goes, the final 24 (convertibles) were built after the planned production run ended at the request of folks who were influential with Packard's senior management.

this plaque came from Mike Dulunski, I'll inquire if he knows what serial number car this came from or car's history

Here is a picture of an original glove box door with the plaque attached.
This one was installed in a 1956 400 that was in the collection of Wesley Sylvester and probably came from the remains of a 1956 Caribbean hardtop that was also on his property.
The Caribbean was #5697-1019, Paint MKN and Trim 296.

BDeB, thanks for the picture. Is it attached with holes in the door and pins, or glued?

We have evidence of both "pinned" and glued and it would be nice if we could understand this better. Easy to speculate, e.g. pinned on factory deliveries? Pinned on Caribbeans prior to #1250? Perhaps we can gather some more observations and make sense of it.

The one that I have is pinned as shown in post #9 and retained by round speednut type clips.

Wasn't there a discussion about theses plaques before, I'm not sure if it was on this site or in PAC. I thought there was paperwork on how to get the plaque inscribed.

Or maybe I'm mistaken.

Found it,

Wow! I'm the person who posted that little gem that I got from Stuart Blond, and completely forgot about it.

I started the other thread, and didn't remember that I did! I just remembered the discussion.
