West, undoubtedly not an easy decision and you didn't make it easy for yourself. You wanted to preserve the originality of the vehicle, even if you had to sacrifice comfort. But in the end, the vehicle and its components have to work.

With the full electrics, you couldn't tell the difference other than that they worked so well. I do not remember if the solenoids and/or plumbing was retained underneath the hood or chassis, but probably not. I may have a lot of that stuff in a box around here somewhere.

The electric motors came out of mid-1950s Lincolns, if anyone wants to know where the six-volt motors came from.
