Sure is a world of difference. Is it rust that discolored the paint or something in the environment where it was stored or some chemical applied? Near as I can recall, deteriorated paint out here just seems to oxidize or fade. Don't think I've ever seen paint stained like that.

You are correct Howard, the white portion of the paint has checked and rust bled through. I was able to use abrasive to remove the rust stain I will follow up with a hd compoud and wax to inhibit further rust. Unfortunately the 400 was outside for 10 plus years with a cover on it and it held in the moisture.
