Selling a 352ci Packard supplied engine from a 1956 Ambassador V8. Good running engine removed several years ago from a rusty car.....Engine is complete including 2bl Carter carb and oil bath air cleaner. This Nash engine was supplied by Packard and has the more reliable AMC supplied oil pump with no vacuum pump in the crankcase and instead uses a dual stage fuel pump for the vacuum operated windshield wipers......Engine has a date code of 8/29/55.... Engine turns freely and has been correctly stored in dry storage with spark plugs periodically removed and Marvel Mystery Oil added to keep the block/pistons lubed..... $750.00 JimmyCFO@aol.com Local pick up from Ohio zip 44203 Photos are available on the Craigs List ad......

Do you know if this will fit a 1955 Hudson?

Yes, it will fit a 55 Hudson and be an exact fit....EXCEPT that a 1955 Hudson or Nash is a 6V Positive ground car and in 1956 AMC changed their cars to 12V Negative ground. So the generator would be different for '55....its still an Autolite ignition....but the coil would have to be changed to a 6V coil to work on a 55 Hudson or Nash. My engine listed above is outfitted with the 12V system, generator, and coil.... Dig?

There's that 5 blade engine fan I spent years looking for downunder - they do exist! Don't need it now though as have fitted a flex fan instead. John

I also notice it appears to have the cast steel oil filter cover rather than the more commonly seen stamped steel cover. If anyone has had the problem with the stamped steel filter cover leaking due to overtightening and warping, that cover is the answer.
