Just received NOS # 304124. 3.2281, and # 304123. 3.2091 as advertised from a Packard guy off eBay. The numbers, per manuals and parts lists match up to the box that I am 99% sure (it's an orphan) I have. The original boxes have recent labels taped over the original parts numbers, but CLEARLY DO NOT FIT. Before I try to get a refund...were the topshift cane lever '35-'38 boxes the same throughout the range? The bearings are small for the shafts, no way are they right.

It's my understanding that the '35-'38 boxes are pretty unique to themselves and mine looks JUST like the illustrations in the '35-'41 manuals with the cane shift and large flat shift cover base.

Want to be sure before I try to get a refund, the guy didn't even combine ship, but packed in the same flat rate box. Grrr. Hate eBay sometimes.

Both the 304123 and 304124 were used in all '35-'54 Packard transmissions except O/D trans and 35-39 V-12 and '35-'38 big eight and super 8.

Either they are misboxed or you do not have a Packard trans. Give me the #'s from the bearings themselves and the 6 digit casting # from the trans case

Wish I could afford to just buy all the best new stuff, but have to try to economize. If you're a Kanter from Kanter...I have an order for the cluster gear rollers, rear seal and gasket set written up in front of me for you guys! Pretty damn, in fact positive I have a Packard box, as I am elbows deep in the thing and everything else matches up. I will get the numbers tomorrow, the box case numbers are readable as I have cleaned, blasted and painted the box. I have the gear lever and top assembly here with me for now Pictures enclosed until I get case numbers.

Sure looks like a 35-38 top cover, awaiting #'s from edges of bearings

Ok bearing numbers are MRC 306 SG for the one boxed as 304123

MRC 207 SG for the one boxed as 304124

They are in "Genuine Packard Parts" boxes with new labels taped on.

Case numbers on transmission are 30251-1 over 11-11. Any help is appreciated!
