I would send you some hex. But mailing to can. Would cost more.

I could even make it. I made mine. But to mail it ...

Thanks for the offer Riki! But after another frustrating afternoon on the phone calling around I gave up. Went back to searching online for one already made. Turns out Max Merritt has them, so I have just asked them to include one on the package with the pan gaskets and seals I am ordering.

That plunger boot looks more like it

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I live rurally so running around to shops to no avail would cost more than just biting the bullet and making the purchase

ACE hardware did come here for a short time, loved that store, but then they moved on, bummer☹️

I know what you mean as my Terrebonne, OR shop is also extremely rural. So much so that even though it has a Terrebonne address, it is actually in the next county. Fortunately there is a tiny but well-stocked hardware store in town but even that is quite a drive, part way over gravel roads.

So I'm trying to get the oil filter out, but it won't pull up

Is there a trick? It turns, comes up about 1/4" then stops. Am I missing something here?

Just pry it up from the edge at opposite sides at the same time as it has to be replaced anyway so no problem if damaged. It has rubber gommets at the center which slide down over the tube in the housing but they may be brittle making it simply stuck in place.

Is the oil filter paper or metal?

Never had it out, not sure. Looks like paper with metal top and assume bottom

The only thing you might break is the filter itself so try to pry gently from both sides together to take it straight off the post. Once it starts to move, it should come right out.
