Crank is in and the timing chain was replaced. Lots of lineup marks, the cam drive, the timing gear to cam flange (about 2 o'clock on the large gear) and the crank gear (6 o'clock) to cam timing gear(noon). Once those are aligned, checked to make sure #1 crank journal was at TDC (top of travel), and the cam lobes were pointing down (closed).

There are marks on the distributor drive as well where it should mesh with the camshaft.

Bill.

Do you have a picture of the crank before the timing gear.

Gear on crank.

Any spacers..?

Here are the rest of the parts that go on the front of the crank. From the right to left. Seal assembly with cork seal, spacer, harmonic balancer, then pulley and nut. The aluminum under the pully is just to hold it up.

Here is that crank nose. It just has the timing gear on at this point.

Pistons next then silencers then valves
