In that era Packard kept production records by chassis but not by body type. Thus, since yours is #58th, you can say that they made at least 58 of that exact combination of chassis and body. If you can find one with a higher number, then you'll know they built that many. There are about 5 1705 sedans/limos listed in the PAC. Probably at least twice that number of survivors if you estimate those owned by people who are not a member of PAC. You could also cross-check against PI and CCCA directories to eliminate the duplicates and get a more precise count.

Could you please give me the thief-proof number (large number embossed on the engine-side of the cowl) for your car?

EDIT - correction to the # of survivors.

J.T.
Just for comparison, my car, a 1940 Super Eight 180 touring sedan on the 148-inch wheelbase, is the highest known number of the 1351 body style for 1940, and it is number 83 (2283). Your car has basically the exact same body as mine.

West, I thought the base number was 2001, not 2201. Are you certain?

You're right, and my car isn't out of storage yet to double check. I'm not sure why I said 22. Sorry.
