Well.......at least he didn't cut holes in the dash for the extra gauges!! Take the console out, remove the tach mounted on the steering column, and fix the torsion level, and it would be a decent driver. I could live with the louvers in the hood, although I don't particularly like them.

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

I like louvers, on the right type of car. But in my opinion, a '55 Clipper is not the right type of car!

I should think not. Little doors, either.

In other news, I saw a Packard engine for sale on Facebook. Damned thing looked like it has spend the last couple of decades pressed into service as a boat anchor. Looked to have a 1936 casting number, so it's likely a 282 or its precursor. $200.

You'd spend that in EvapoRust to get anything off it, not that there was much intact.

As I posted on the AACA forum: Too bad the previous owner stripped the original paint. It might have been a good candidate to get it looking as good as possible cosmetically with what was there, and fix the mechanicals, and drive it.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

That Mayfair is really sweet!

Is that original (or original style) upholstery?

Except it’s not a “V-8” but I realize they might be just trying to get hits
