Just can't stay away

I should have started a new topic on STEERING GEAR REMOVAL, but since we are already going in that discussion I'll just continue here. I did peruse the "suspension and steering" section of the service manual some time back to begin thinking about what should be done to correct my LOST MOTION. The steps to check things out are fairly straightforward, but I did stop reading on p.13, just before the section "Steering Gear Removal." What made me stop is the note above that section: do not attempt to adjust the cross shaft until the steering gear alignment and worm bearing adjustment are known to be correct. All of the paragraphs before this "note" explain how to do this. I will read everyone's input and suggestions until these two things are accomplished. This could not come close to the hydraulic system project.
