I have a 46 PACKARD INLINE 8 282. I have finally got it running half way reliable. I am wondering what is a good running temp for this motor? Also how do I tell if my thermostat works? I put an after market more modern one from napa in. Thanks for any kind of input!

Running temperatures except for unusually stressful situations should be within a few degrees of the thermostat rating.
