Basic U joint 101 dumb question.

Have installed new Kanter repro U joints (exact fit and appears to be a nice repro) and am ready to install the driveshaft.

A question please -- the SM cautions on inserting and aligning the slip yoke properly but that presents a small problem. I did find the arrow on the yoke but can not find an arrow on the shaft. There may be a small dot on one side which could possibly be an indication. The other side is somewhat pocked with old rust spots and scratches so can't see much of the shaft. Could they have used a dot instead of an arrow?

The photo doesn't show enough of the shaft to get a representation on where to look for the arrow in relation to the grease fitting. Assuming another photo in the SM is of the same shaft, it would appear the pressed in portions of both joints are 90 degrees apart which would put one of the wing pieces in line with the grease fitting. That would make the dot appear to be the correct indicator. Is that the proper orientation or do these straight U joints have some different angle like 45.

Here are some photos of the arrows on 2 different drive shafts. One is on the same side as the grease fitting and the other is opposite.

The arrow on the driveshaft lines up with the yoke on the far end that has the pressed in u-joint. The yoke on the slip joint with the pressed in u-joint should line up with the same one on the other end and will do so when the arrows match.

Thanks. No luck finding the arrow. It appears it is covered with the worst of the rust pits so will go with lining up the round pressed in bearing caps.
