Striping the car today with aircraft stripper, one panel at a time. It has the factory paint which I guess is enamel and was repaint many years ago before I bought it. The paint is cracked and flaking. I bought some etching primmer sealer for the bare metal. Rubber gloves , boots and air respirator mask. The car is outside in the driveway locked down like Fort Knox. I want this paint job right. Blue tape is covering the trim holes for the rainy days. Original paint is BH Yosemite blue and Meridian blue.

Original Packard paint is lacquer, not enamel.

Driver side stripped and etch primed . One panel each day for 4 days, I'm tired. The top coat came of great, but the original light blue and primer were tough to get off. Packard did it right with the paint. I sure wish I could have been in the plant back in the day watching Packard built these great cars.
