I might talk to 1 of the Packard guys here if they want me to haul 1 of theirs. I got a very special barnfind in mind of a prewar Packard where there's only 2 left and he owns both!
Better start doing some lobbying

Looking forward to connect a face to a lot of PI forum members as well.

Too bad, the barn finds would have added more interest to the display of Packards. Well, at least you tried, thanks.

I plan on being there, but without either of my Packards.

However, I will be giving a presentation and appeal on the Packard Proving Grounds during the Awards Dinner on Saturday evening.

Looking forward to coming to the Lone Star State and meeting everyone.

1 of the perks of being self employed is that you have to jump at business opportunities when they present themselves! Because of that I don't see myself to be able to attend Salado this year unless some miracles happen on my end!

Looks like we have 50 Packards pre-registered for the Meet. We usually get 10 or more onsite registrations. It is looking like a well attended gathering with about 200 participants. The Early Bird Tour will be along the back roads from Salado to Georgetown where we will park in front of the historic court house. We will then have some time for lunch and shopping before going on to view the garage and collection of our tour master. Saturday is the big day with the Packards on display, class voting, a swap meet, a tech session, a dinner, and ending the day will be an awards ceremony. Our featured speaker will be RogerDetroit who will talk about the Packard Motor Car Foundation and the work they are doing at the Proving Grounds. Sunday will conclude our activities with a board meeting in the morning and then we all head for home. Should be a great time.

There are some on the Facebook page,https://www.facebook.com/Packardmeetsaladotx

There are also some on the bottom of the webpage of the meet,

The weather held during the weekend. There were many who did not bring their cars, but the cars that were there, were impressive.

We even made the Georgetown newspaper Facebook page, photo

If you were not in Salado, TX last weekend, then missed a great meet.

My wife and I had a wonderful time; I got to see some old friends (JW and Flackmaster among others) and made some new friends, too. Everyone made this northerner feel welcome. BTW, the bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes were in full bloom during the driving tour on Friday.

I had a very receptive audience at the Saturday Awards Dinner where I gave a presentation about the history of the Packard Proving Grounds and the restoration work being done by the Packard Motor Car Foundation. I just hope I did not put too many folks to sleep as I can talk about the place nearly forever.

Meanwhile, I have attached a couple of photos from the car show on Saturday. Below are in my humble opinion were the 3 leading contenders for the Best of Show Pre-War Trophy. As a coincidence all three cars had 12 cylinder engines. See if you can guess the winner.

Thanks again to all the Texans for having me down to your meet.
