I removed the water jacket on a parts car that I have and the inside was rusted through in several places. I know they sell new ones but it looked simple to rebuild. The inside took very little effort to remove it . I made a new inside piece and I media blasted both sides of the outer piece to make sure there are no pin holes. The complete job took only 2 hours. Before I weld together I was wondering if I should paint inside and outside pieces. If so any Ideas por 15 or something else.

Copper electroplating would be ideal from the viewpoint of preventing any growth of corrosion pits, thus preventing any future porosity. A cooling system is a harsh environment for organic coatings like paints. Plus of course any organic coating would inhibit heat transfer though I don't think that would be particulary critical on the water jacket assembly.
