If you have an interest in Warren Packard and his family including James Ward and William Dowd and their 3 sisters, their homes and vacation homes, and much more, you may enjoy reading Jim Balfour's just published book-

More than Automobiles - the Packards of Warren, Ohio

The book was first-announced at the PAC National in Traverse City Michigan this summer past; I just got my copy today, still reading it. You'll find details about it in the "Packard Bookshelf" section of the main menu. Author A. J. Balfour is a very well-respected Packard historian and a serious researcher. Order info in The Packard Club monthly newsletter, or contact the publisher directly, M.T. Publishing Co., Evansville IN, 888-263-4702.

One little tidbit I found particularly interesting was in Appendix D, A Partial Record of Packard Automobiles owned by the Packard Family. In particular Elizabeth (Gillmer) Packard's last car was not a 1954 limousine as has occasionally been suggested but rather a 1956 Patrician and the vehicle number is known. Her 1934 Eight coupe still exists, wouldn't it be nice if the Patrician did as well? VN 5682-1541.
