Does anyone know where I can get an original style temperature sensor for my car you know the one that sits on the intake manifold it appears the one I have isn't working.

No sensors on the V8 intake manifold. The temp sensor is screwed into the bracket holding the Ultramatic throttle linkage at the rear of the left side head. It is in the space between the engine and the firewall. There is an oil sender on the top of the block at the right rear that is just behind the intake manifold. If you do need a temp sensor try Napa -- Echlin TS6464
