55-56 Full Flow Oil Line Mocked-Up & Installed

It's in! Been a long time BUT things are moving forward on my 400 again. The oil lines are made by Goodyear 13/32" and I had all the couplers press fitted at a local power hose dealer. The brass fittings are from my local Ace Hardware store. It took a number of hours and multiple configurations before I settled in on the current design. As seen the bellows oil pressure sender is now horizontal as opposed to vertical. I really like how the heater core assembly helped hide most things.

best regards,

Kevin

Sure looks good. What did you finally do about the extra hole in the dash?

As it is centered between the other (2) holes, I'll just probably place a small trim piece there.

in the 1st pic above there is a hole in the firewall. What was that used for????? Did the car have aftermarket AC at one time???

My very original 56 Exec had dummy Antenna bezels in the centre veticle holes (radio delete). They were retained with a trim screw and nut. Probably use the same thing on your extra hole.

Kevin, you should put a switch in there to operate the flamethrowers. The cops might not like it....Oh wait a minute, you don't have to worry about that! Click to see original Image in a new window

BTW, u forgot to put the clamp on the road draft tube.

In the 1st pic it appears that the distributor is installed wrong. The vac advance should point toward the LEFT side of the car not the rite side????????

Keith, I think you're right about the distributor, but there is a clamp on the draft tube.

Keith & Randy,

Correct on the distributor positioning. I've not installed it permanently yet as I still need to spin the oil pump and get reading before firing the engine.

Not sure about the road draft comment? She is fully tight up top, but I still need to install the lower bell housing and secure the tab on the lower tube to that.

And yes, it had after market a/c which I pulled when I started this adventure.

Kevin: first class install!

Probably most of the V-8 guys know what you are up to with the remote oil filter, but maybe some of the other guys are wondering what is going on. A peek inside your oil pan should help explain:
