1941 super 8 fuel pump

I was looking in my motors manual for fuel pump pressure. If I read it right for a 1941 super 8 it should be 4-5 lbs. Is this correct? My gauge is only showing 2 1/2 lbs.

Sounds marginal at best. Manuals and specifications not withstanding, the old rule of thumb was 3-1/2 to 5 psi.
