Hello All!

Fairly new to the forum. Having in issue with getting my 58' into reverse . Does anyone have any places for a newbie to start ? Is there a linkage adjustment ??

I think you will find that the rear motor mounts have deteriorated causing the trans to drop down a bit, thus the linkage can not push the trans lever down far enough to engage reverse.

Get under the car and locate the shift lever on the side of the trans. You will see that its position can be easily adjusted with the two adjusting nuts on the shift rod. Make the rod longer. Or, go ahead and buy a new pair of rear mounts while they are still available from Studebaker International.

Mounts are ok. Linage was not hooked up right . On the road now .
