Identifying a Trunk

I’ve had this trunk since the late 90’s after my grandfather passed away. While alive, I recall him remarking that this trunk came from a Packard. It sat in the basement for years until he passed away, generally used for storing blankets. He removed the clasps and lock to make sure that his grandchildren (me included) did not get trapped in it.

I’d like to find a similar picture of one like it, and possible restore the missing hardware with something ‘compatible’ in looks. If not from a Packard, I’d love to know that as well, and if anyone recognizes it and the automobile from which it came, that would be awesome.

It may have come off of a Packard, but it is not a Packard accessory. Much different than the ones Packard offered.
