'35 Super 8 Starter Jammed

I am reasonably certain the 6V starter on my '35 Super 8 has jammed. I vaguely remember this happening years ago, and my late father resolving it like it was no big deal. Starter circuit voltages check OK, but when starter relay closes, starter does not move.

The car is in storage, and I start it in place several times per year. It usually takes a few start and stalls as the fuel pump fills up the carb. This time, after a couple start and stalls, the relay closed, but the starter did not move.

It looks like there is a single hex bolt clamping the starter in place. Loosen and slide starter out? Any tips to holding the weight of the starter? Hope to keep the wiring attached and especially hope the Bendix is not damaged. In the photo, I removed the cover on the relay and the brush end. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

You don't just loosen that bolt, you must actually remove it. Then wiggle/twist and if it's free it should slide out. Yup it's heavy! Strongly recommend you disconnect the battery first.
