Here is a detailed design proposal for the 1956 Clipper done by Larry Shinoda. Shinoda also worked at GM and did some work on Corvette designs. Interesting and attractive.

Very nice design indeed. I believe I do like the car better without the customary-for-the-time Dagmars. Shinoda was a very talented designer for GM for quite a long time.

Shinoda also work for Packard for a very brief time. He is also famous for some of his design work on the Mustang while working for Ford.

Shinoda designed the 63 Corvette under Bill Mitchells direction. I believe he also designed the 69-70 Mustang.

I agree, Shinoda's concept for the '56 was superb. I believe he realized the Dagmar bumper fad had more or less run it's course after being around on Cads and other GMs for a few years, by that time.
