Here is an illustration of a very Packard looking dual cowl concept car, but is marked as a Hudson. Do you suppose this was done when AMC and Packard were discussing merging? Don't know artist. Just thought I would share.

Looks more GM'ish to me.

At the lower right bottom corner there is something written under the "Hudson 56". What does it say????

This is a design by Fred Hudson, who worked at Packard from 1954-56. See the issue of the Packard Cormorant from about a year ago for many more drawings of his work. He died a short time ago.

Yes! Now the title makes sense. Thanks! Interesting concept to re-introduce a dual cowl convertible.

Hi

Yes, that's one of Fred Hudson's marvelous designs. He was an immensely talented young designer when he worked of Packard. He contributed greatly to the still-born '57 Packards and Clippers.

It is such a shame that so much of Fred's Packard design work never saw production. He did generously share his wealth of period design work with the Packard Club to publish in The Cormorant before his passing. A friend knew him through frequent contact over the years discussing his time with Packard, tells me Fred was a first-class, great guy.

We're losing them fast now, fifty years plus their age then...

Steve

Maybe these two attachments will help. I think Leisure did the backgrounds and Hudson did the cars.
