I was looking for a 34 Chevy color today for a friend and found this site. It might be useful for cross referencing Packard paint colors and modern manufacturers, in addition to the work done by BigKev.

People who use on-line paint chips should be reminded that colors are likely to be significantly distorted on screen.

My other vice is photography; I have a graphic arts calibrated monitor, but it is no guarantee that colors will be spot on. Printing these color chips simply adds another uncontrolled variable.

If you need a paint chip, try and find an actual chipset that isn't weathered.....

Most computer monitors or printers are happiest producing kodak snapshot color: it is more pleasing than accurate.

Just my two cents here:

Another factor is pigments. The old lead pigment based lacquers were quite durable and those pigments are no longer manufactured. Thus, exact matches are not obtainable. However, it is still possible to find OEM cans of Packard lacquer which can be fairly matched by a modern paint store.

Colors like Packard Blue, Packard Maroon, Pacific Green, Barola Blue, Arctic Blue, Egyptian Sand Metallic and what not can still be found by the can.

A carefully prepared spray out card could then be made up.
