Howard,

Those are some very informative pics of the dash removal. I just wish it were a 22nd series. You have any info on that? Thanks!

I wish I did have some photos. Unfortunately the last one I took apart was before digital cameras were around so didn't take many pictures back then. Only managed to find one useless photo of a 22nd dash out of the car -- and that was probably taken to finish off a roll of film.

Can say that it does come out of the car in one piece just about like the 47 does. Pretty much the same bolt and screw locations. Steering column, emerg brake, hood release handles, cowl vent & other items have to loosen or come off from under lower edge. Radio should be out so as not to fight the weight. Check if there is a rear support to cowl on the radio.

I can't remember exactly how the chrome attaches on the 22nd but suspect it is similar in the way it bolts on the 47. Just not as many individual pieces. Believe one poster mentioned the switches will come out as an assembly by removing a couple of special nuts.

Thank you, Howard. I'm sure I will figure it out, as I to want to refinish the wood graining eventually. Right now, I may just attempt to remove the speedo to service it and get it working again. Hasn't worked since the mid fifties, according to my lube sticker!
