In Which We Serve

There's a scene in Noel Coward's splendid 1942 movie, In Which We Serve, where a pair of British seaman are resting on their bunks, regaling one another with their dream cars. After one extols the virtues of a homegrown Parthenon-grilled car, his friend replies,

"You can have your Rolls-Royce, mate. But it's an American
Pack ard for me."

Of course, in 1942, with the US initially focused on the Pacific, anything to appeal to the American movie audience.
Still, nice that they didn't mention the scurvy Cadillac-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack (as Billy Joel sang in "Moving Out").

Happy Decoration Day.
