1939 1700 & 1701 conv. coupe difference

other than the obvious 6 & 8 cyl engines and wheelbase differences--what are the main differences between the 1700 & 1701 conv. coupes when looking at them. I was looking at many different pics and it appeared the side vents on each side of the hood are different maybe?

From the cowl back they're the same IIRC.
I think the only difference is the shorter hood and shorter fenders, resulting is shorter wheelbase.
