Biggest difference preventing a direct drop in of the trans is in the input shaft and collar or snout the throwout bearing collar slides on. Shaft is a larger diameter by about 3/16 inch and takes a larger clutch plate than the smaller engine unit. You would need to swap input shafts and the throwout bearing snout along with the collar assy to have it fit your engine or more correctly the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc and probably the throwout lever assy.
A more subtle difference is in the OD planetary gearset. The 356 engine has 4 pinions to handle extra torque vs 3 pinions used on the smaller engines. The extra pinon wouldn't be needed on the smaller engine but sure is on the large engine.

One nice thing is this unit comes with all the extras needed.
